Hi! I'm Melissa, I am an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Registered Nutritionist based in Melbourne, Australia.
I help individuals who are following a plant-based/vegan lifestyle to improve their health, manage a variety of medical conditions and optimise their wellbeing. Whether you are new to this lifestyle or are a long-term vegan, I am here to help you on your journey.
As a health professional, my goal is to educate, guide and support you to achieve your health goals with evidence-based strategies in a judgement-free zone. I am passionate about helping you to follow a diet that aligns with your core values.
I help to translate evidence-based scientific information into individualised, practical advice and am dedicated to creating a tailored diet plan that is right for you and will help you to achieve your goals.
I have a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between food and biochemistry and the role this plays in the prevention of chronic diseases, and how this affects your overall health and wellbeing.
It is my belief that diet plays a role in all areas of health, not just physical, but also emotional, social, intellectual and environmental. I take all these aspects into account to provide a holistic approach to solving nutrition problems and achieving your goals. I am passionate about helping people to establish a healthy relationship with food, allowing you to be happy and healthy while reaching your goals.
I also specialise in treating clients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I have completed extra training in this space, having completed the Monash Univerity Low FODMAP diet for health professionals course.
I have experience consulting clients across a wide range of cultural and diverse backgrounds so you can be assured no matter your background, you will be well looked after and quality care and consideration will be provided.
I have been vegan for over 9 years. I adopted a vegan lifestyle in late 2013 after learning of the ethical and environmental impacts of consuming animal products and since then I haven't gone back.
I am passionate about advocating for a plant-based lifestyle and I understand first-hand the importance of having a health professional that can understand and relate to the core values of a vegan lifestyle.
In my spare time, you will either find me in the kitchen creating delicious plant-based recipes or eating at cafes and restaurants. I also love getting outside and being active I love running, hiking, camping and swimming.
