MELISSA D'ELIA
ACCREDITED PRACTISING DIETITIAN & REGISTERED NUTRITIONIST

I’m an Accredited Practising Dietitian based in Melbourne and the founder of Sprout Nutrition.
I specialise in plant-based nutrition, IBS and gut health, women’s health and weight management. My work focuses on helping people optimise their health through personalised nutrition counselling and practical strategies that feel realistic and enjoyable.
I regularly collaborate with Monash FODMAP to develop comprehensive, nutritionally balanced Low FODMAP recipes. This partnership allows me to combine my expertise in plant-based nutrition with Monash’s world-leading research, ensuring my clients benefit from advice that is both practical and grounded in the latest science.
My clinical interests include women’s health nutrition, with a focus on PCOS and endometriosis. I also provide support for IBS and the Low FODMAP diet, plant-based eating, and weight management. This includes nutrition guidance for clients using GLP-1 medications. I also have a strong interest in sports nutrition, applying evidence-based strategies to help clients optimise fuelling and recovery.
I’m particularly passionate about the intersection between plant-based nutrition and IBS management, and I enjoy developing Low FODMAP, plant-based dietary strategies that are nutritionally complete and practical for everyday life.
As a member of Dietitians Australia, I stay up to date with the latest nutrition research and professional practice standards. I’m committed to providing care that is clinically sound, supportive and empowering, helping every client feel confident with food and in control of their health.
